From our own life stories to global events, to understand why things happen, we humans like to knit details into neat stories. We simply build “meanings” and a thread of connected events into them.

Yet stories simplify and distort reality, and filter things that don’t fit. Many times thay give us a false sense of understanding.

But there is a remedy: Pick the stories apart and ask yourself “What are they trying to hide?”
